NameWise ("we", "our", "us") is a baby name discovery app. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information We Collect
- Account information: When you sign up via Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from the provider.
- Onboarding preferences: The name preferences you provide during onboarding (gender, cultural background, style preferences, etc.) are stored to personalize your experience.
- Name interactions: Your swipes (likes, dislikes, super likes) and any feedback you provide on names are stored to improve suggestions.
- Partner connections: If you invite a partner, we store the partnership link and shared name matches.
- Usage analytics: We collect anonymous usage data (page views, feature usage) to improve the app.
How We Use Your Information
- To generate personalized name suggestions using AI based on your preferences.
- To enable partner features like shared name matching.
- To improve and maintain the app.
- To communicate with you about your account if necessary.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. Authentication is handled through secure OAuth providers (Google, Apple). We do not store your passwords.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase: Database and authentication.
- Anthropic (Claude): AI-powered name generation. Your preferences are sent to generate suggestions but are not stored by Anthropic beyond the request.
- Vercel: Hosting and anonymous analytics.
- Google / Apple: OAuth authentication.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
Children's Privacy
NameWise is intended for adults (parents and parents-to-be). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app.
